RISING PHOENIX LEGACY
Every living soul. One small step.

Dear friends,
Margee built a place where women facing hardship could find meaningful work, belonging, and a new beginning. A place where Christian faith took shape in hospitality—in welcoming someone, listening to her story, and giving her an opportunity to begin again.
Now, with the auction scheduled to close October 27, we are trying to find someone who can keep that welcome alive.
I keep returning to one thought: somewhere, there may be a person or organization with both the heart and the ability to carry Margee’s torch forward. We simply have to help her story reach them.

We have started a campaign to reach every living soul alive
That is the ambition behind our One Small Step at a Time campaign: to give Margee’s story the chance to reach every living soul on Earth, one personal act of sharing at a time.
The next step is simple:
Share the campaign email with 11 of your contacts.
Invite them to watch Margee’s story, share the appeal with 11 of their own contacts, and ask those people to do the same. Eleven invitations can become 121, then 1,331, then 14,641 as the message passes from person to person.
Those numbers illustrate the possibility of sharing; they are not a count of people reached or a promise that everyone will participate. Our campaign thermometer records visitors arriving through the campaign, rather than assuming every forwarded email was read.
To share the campaign: press the button below. On the page that opens, press Copy formatted appeal. Then open Gmail, Zoho, Outlook, or your preferred email service and start a new message. Click in the message body and choose Paste (Command-V on Mac or Ctrl-V on Windows). Add 11 contacts—using BCC to keep their addresses private—and send.
You do not need a national platform. You do not need to know how to buy a retreat. You can take one small, manageable step—and someone you reach may know the person we have been searching for.

Taking Margee’s story across the airwaves
Alongside this personal sharing campaign, our records document sent emails or successful form submissions to at least 70 radio stations, networks, and radio programs, excluding known failed emails and uncertain form attempts. These are outreach contacts—not confirmed broadcasts or endorsements.
They include national names such as Moody Radio, American Family Radio, K-LOVE/Air1, Bott Radio Network, and Relevant Radio, as well as stations serving communities closer to Rising Phoenix.
Our national research directory contains 1,170 station listings. Our intention is to work through that directory, starting near Flintstone, Maryland, then national networks, and continuing across the country. Hundreds more remain to be checked for current station identity, an appropriate contact, and overlap with networks already approached.
Some listings are outdated, and one network contact may serve many stations, so 1,170 is our research list—not a promise of 1,170 separate messages.
Behind every inquiry is the same hope: that one listener, one station leader, or one introduction could help Margee’s story reach a future steward.

A practical path for someone ready to explore
Katie McCarthy Evenbeck of United Camps, Conferences & Retreats (UCCR) has explained how UCCR could support a future owner or steward as an operational partner.
Under a management agreement, its work could include a feasibility study and facility inspection, followed by recommendations on facility improvements, use of the property, market positioning, rates, staffing, compliance, and financial sustainability.
An initial assessment cannot be completed before the close of the auction, but through a direct preservation appeal to Loyola, contingencies could be added where necessary.
Any contingencies would require Loyola’s agreement. UCCR does not purchase properties, and no acquisition or management partnership has been secured.
For an interested buyer, this means there is experienced help available to explore—not simply a heartfelt appeal without an operational path.

A mission that could support its own future
This does not have to be a strictly philanthropic appeal. With the right purchase terms and operating plan, Rising Phoenix has the potential to generate revenue and profit through retreats, lodging, and gatherings, while honoring Margee’s Christian mission.
That potential needs careful assessment of the property, permitted uses, demand, and costs. Profitability has not been established.
But the possibility matters: a future steward could explore both preserving a legacy of welcome and building a financially sustainable operation.

Somewhere, someone may be ready to carry the torch
I cannot promise that we will find that person before the auction. But I do not want this moment to pass without giving Margee’s story every opportunity we can.
She made room for people who needed a place and a new beginning. My hope is that we can help make room for her mission to continue.
Please watch her story. Think of the people in your life who might care. Then take the next small step.
Help her story reach 11 more people by copying and sharing the separate campaign email.
With gratitude and hope, Adam Rising Phoenix Legacy Preservation Effort
